The latest Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer video has achieved a record-breaking milestone by amassing nearly 100 million views on YouTube within just 24 hours. This remarkable achievement, excluding music videos, surpasses the previous record-holder, a video created by the renowned YouTuber MrBeast.
When music videos are taken into account, the leading spot is secured by the K-pop sensation BTS with their song “Butter,” which garnered a staggering 108 million views within a single day.
Initially scheduled for release on Tuesday, video game publisher Rockstar was set to unveil the first trailer for the game. However, due to an online leak, the trailer was released late on Monday night instead.
The company stated, “Our trailer has been leaked, so please watch the official release on YouTube,” accompanying the 90-second debut trailer for the game. This confirmed the game’s scheduled release for some time in 2025.
The previous installment in the series, Grand Theft Auto V, hit the shelves over a decade ago, in September 2013. It continues to hold the title as the second-best-selling video game ever, trailing only behind Minecraft.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the much-anticipated game, which will bring players back to the Vice City setting inspired by Miami. Notably, it introduces the franchise’s first female protagonist, Lucia, alongside an as-yet unnamed male lead character.
