You Won’t Believe What’s Coming to Prime Video—Apple TV+ Joins the Lineup!
Apple TV+ Joins Prime Video: A New Streaming Partnership
Apple and Amazon have joined forces in a surprising new deal that brings Apple TV+ to Amazon’s Prime Video platform. This means Prime Video users will soon be able to add Apple’s streaming service to their subscriptions, alongside popular options like Max, Paramount+, and more.
Apple TV+ Now Available as a Prime Video Add-On
From later this month, Apple TV+ will be available as an add-on to Prime Video for £9.99 per month. This allows users to access Apple TV+ content directly through the Prime Video app without needing to switch between platforms.
During the Bloomberg Screentime Conference, Prime Video’s chief, Mike Hopkins, shared his excitement about the partnership:
“Our companies do a lot of business together. Eddie Cue and his team have done a fantastic job with this deal, and we can’t wait to get it going.”
Why This Partnership?
The big question is, why would Apple TV+ team up with Prime Video? The answer lies in scale. Amazon’s Prime Video reaches millions of viewers worldwide, while Apple TV+ is still growing. By joining forces, Apple can get its award-winning shows and films in front of a larger audience.
As Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, put it:
“We want to make Apple TV+ and its fantastic library of series and films available to as many people as possible.”
Prime Video: Expanding Its Reach
Mike Hopkins also highlighted that Prime Video has “hundreds of millions” of users globally. This broad reach makes it an attractive platform for other services, including Apple TV+. Hopkins said,
“We’re like a one-stop shop—easy access, one-click subscription, and everything in one app.”
Apple TV+ Hits and What’s to Come
For those unfamiliar, Apple TV+ is home to popular series like Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Slow Horses, and Severance. It also has films like Wolfs and is the global streaming hub for Major League Soccer.
This partnership marks a big change for Apple’s strategy, as it traditionally tied Apple TV+ to its Apple One bundle, which includes services like Apple Music and Apple Arcade.
Future of Streaming and James Bond’s Future
Aside from the Apple TV+ deal, Hopkins touched on future projects, including the James Bond franchise. While he didn’t confirm any details, he did say, “We’re working on it.”
Hopkins also pointed out that Prime Video is built to cater to a wide range of tastes:
“We want to be a lot of things to a lot of people. With so many different tastes, we have to be broad in what we offer.”
