Galaxy S24 sales reportedly rise in ‘key’ markets globally to beat the S23
Android Central reports that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series has continued to dominate in key markets since its January launch, maintaining its position as the company’s flagship smartphone line.
Citing data from Counterpoint Research, Yonhap News (Korea) reveals that Galaxy S24 sales have outpaced the previous S23 models in several regions. In South Korea, sales of the S24 experienced a notable 22% increase compared to the S23 during the three-week period following its launch at the end of January. Similarly, sales in the U.S. saw a 14% growth, while Western Europe witnessed a significant 28% surge, driven mainly by pre-orders in countries such as Great Britain, Germany, and France.
Data suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra is leading Samsung’s latest flagship growth, comprising 52% of global sales.
Despite Samsung reporting a substantial drop in profits in Q1 2023, the company highlighted the strong performance of its Galaxy S23 series, which saw sales 1.7 times higher than the S22 devices in various regions, including Europe, India, the Middle East, and Latin America.
The success of the S24 series has been evident since its pre-order phase, with the lineup breaking records in South Korea. Samsung sold 1.21 million units within a week, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra accounting for 60% of these sales, followed by the S24 Plus with 21% and the base S24 with 19%. Samsung attributed this success to the debut of Galaxy AI on the S24 line.
In February, the S24 series received its first security update, which included camera enhancements addressing user concerns about the Vivid display changes and improving the rear camera quality for video recording. While this update marked the S24’s first One UI 6.1 update, Samsung announced plans to introduce Galaxy AI to several previous-generation devices through a separate One UI 6.1 patch.
