Cut down on wait time during customer service calls with this simple trick for Pixel users!
As we gear up for the new year, we’re all looking for ways to save precious time. Picture this: you’re sorting out an issue that needs a call to customer support – maybe it’s about a canceled flight or a misplaced parcel. Now, if you’re a Pixel user, there’s a nifty feature just for you to make these calls a breeze!
Introducing ‘Direct My Call’ – a Pixel-exclusive feature to zip through call menus with ease. When you call a company with an automated system, like some airlines or big stores, ‘Direct My Call’ will display the spoken options right on your Pixel’s screen. Just tap your choice to keep the call moving smoothly. Good news for Pixel 3a (and newer) users in the U.S. and Pixel 6 (and up) users in the U.K., as ‘Direct My Call’ even works with some non-toll-free numbers.
Want to try it out? Here’s a quick guide to get ‘Direct My Call’ up and running on your Pixel:
1. Open your Phone app.
2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner to access the More menu.
3. Head into Settings and find ‘Direct My Call’.
4. Check if it’s switched on. If not, simply toggle it on. For those with a Pixel 3a or newer, you might also like the ‘faster menu options’, which shows you the menu choices before the system reads them out.
Now, when you call a number with an automated system, your phone will visually display the options, making your choices just a tap away. To pick an option, tap it, or use the numeric menu at the screen’s bottom. If you need to exit ‘Direct My Call’ during a call, just tap the ‘Close’ button (X) in the top left corner.
