Apple Announces Special Event on May 7th: New iPads Expected
Apple has sent out invitations to members of the media for a “special Apple Event” scheduled for May 7th at 7AM PT / 10AM ET. The event, which will be held virtually, is expected to focus on the iPad lineup, with the invitation prominently featuring the Apple Pencil.
Rumors suggest that the iPad Pro will receive significant updates, including an OLED display (with a possible size increase to 13 inches for the larger model), an updated M3 chipset, and the repositioning of its front-facing camera to a horizontal orientation. Additionally, there may be announcements regarding a new Apple Pencil and a redesigned Magic Keyboard with an aluminum build and a larger trackpad.
This event marks the end of the longest wait for new iPad models since Apple first entered the product category.
It’s also anticipated that refreshed iPad Air models will be unveiled, potentially including a larger 12.9-inch size. Recent reports suggest that inventory of the current iPad Air has been dwindling at Apple’s retail stores, indicating that an upgraded model is imminent.
